Major Incident Manager | November 2017- October 2021

My time with Major Incident Management exposed massive strengths and weaknesses of enterprise IT infrastructure. We were the “firefighters”. Understanding of each applications infrastructure was a must in order to best lead efforts, and manage teams to minimize time to resolution.

  • Lead efforts to restore critical hospital services, application functionality, and back end Infrastructure for 23 hospitals and over 800 outpatient facilities throughout New York State.
  • Responded to major incident proposals by opening technical communications between appropriate teams, communicating updates to end users and stakeholders, setting up conference calls to investigate and resolve incidents, and escalate when required.
  • Proficient in ServiceNow Major Incident Management task record keeping, including thorough documentation of configuration items, incident tasks, related records, actions taken, etc.
  • Guided technical conversations and ensured agreed upon resolution path is followed to restore service as quickly as possible.
  • Distributed post-incident review forms to Operations Commander’s which enforced root cause analyses, corrective actions, and refined troubleshooting steps to improve future time-to-resolutions.
  • Developed productivity tools, such as the major incident dashboard – to organize notes and quickly reference useful documentation, and python scripts – to automate reporting metrics.
  • Supported the ambulatory and remote site regions during the COVID-19 surge by scheduling daily touch base calls, tracking milestones, and disseminating information to leadership.

Northwell Health

Desktop Support Analyst (part-time) | January 2017- November 2017

Following my internship, I had the opportunity to continue working for Northwell as an on-site technical resource at Huntington Hospital. It was a perfect part-time weekend position while I continued with my university work during the week.

  • Configured Wireless Access points, re-images hospital workstations, and provided basic application support.
  • Surveyed all departments on a routine cadence to ensure satisfactory IT service to end-users.
  • Monitored networks and crucial health care tools, and escalated to the appropriate teams as necessary.

Northwell Health

Systems Management Intern | June 2016 - September 2016

To this day I’m incredibly grateful for this position. My manager took the time to understand my interests, strengths, and ways I could provide the most value even as an intern. The most notable project was building the executive dashboard, which took most of the summer, but once completed it was displayed on a TV screen outside the Northwell CTO’s office, and Operations Center – which remains there to this day.

  • Designed and implemented back-end API and front-end web interface for an executive service desk dashboard using HTML/ CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.
  • Wrote scripts to automate web and database tasks such as logging UIM alarms, and querying databases.
  • Deployed monitoring tools for 600+ back end systems.
